Essex Businesses Face Fragile Outlook – Have Your Say in the Q3 Economic Survey

The latest British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (Q2 2025) has revealed a more fragile outlook among Essex businesses. While many firms continue to report steady sales and recruitment expectations, confidence has been hit by the recent rise in National Insurance contributions, alongside persistent cost pressures and concerns around cashflow.

To ensure this evolving picture is accurately represented, the Q3 2025 survey is now open – giving businesses across Essex the chance to share their experiences and influence the next stage of economic policy.

The Quarterly Economic Survey is the UK’s largest independent business survey and a vital tool for shaping government policy. Results are closely watched by ministers, economists, and the media, providing a powerful platform for local business voices to be heard.

Why it matters:

  • Your feedback helps influence decision-making at the highest levels of government.
  • The survey identifies real-world challenges and opportunities facing businesses.
  • Every response adds strength to the collective voice of the Essex business community.

Businesses of all sizes and sectors are encouraged to take part. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, but the impact is long-lasting.

The deadline to complete the Q3 survey is Monday 15 September.
