Recruitment is now open for the second phase of Essex & Suffolk Water’s apprenticeship-drive – making 2025 a record-breaking year for intake.

The company, which successfully recruited 28 apprentices earlier this year, is now looking for a further 20 trainees across its water supply and networks teams, taking the total number of apprentices to 48 in 2025.

A number of Water Production Operator and Water Networks Distribution Maintenance Operative roles are available at various sites across Essex and Suffolk.

Both jobs play a vital role in ensuring a safe and reliable water supply to customers by operating treatment works and maintaining the infrastructure that delivers clean water to homes and businesses.

As part of the role, apprentices will receive hands-on training alongside formal qualifications, and an opportunity for real career progression in the water industry.
