Members news from around the county
Welcome to the June Edition of Grapevine

We’re officially half-way through 2025 (can you believe it!) and things are definitely heating up. It seems these longer summer days are having an impact on our business community with everyone fitting so much into one month, including the Chambers team.

This month’s Grapevine is full to the brim with our Members achievements, advice and great news stories. So, find some shade, grab a glass of something refreshing and delve into the latest business news from Essex.

Spreading Smiles, One Teddy at a Time!

Our Client Call & Care Assistant, Julie Cushion, recently brought joy and cuddles to the community by delivering a batch of hand-knitted Teddies 4 Tragedies bears to the inspiring team at The Music Man Project!

Julie had the pleasure of meeting Music Man Ambassadors and David Stanley, Founder & CEO, to present the wholesome woollen creations. The teddies will bring comfort to children during visits to special needs schools and workshops across the county.

Networking with the Lower Thames Crossing

We were delighted to host an impactful networking event this month connecting our business community with the Lower Thames Crossing team, at the Park Inn by Radisson Palace Hotel in Southend!

Attendees heard an update from Natalie Bonnick, Head of Supply Chain Development, on the progress of the vital infrastructure project that’s set to transform logistics and connectivity across our region.

The room was buzzing with questions, connections, and opportunities, showing just how much this project means to our business community. Read more on our Latest News

Employer Supported Policing Award

Our LSIP Director Andy Sparks was proud to recently present Stockvale Group with the Employer Supported Policing Award at the Essex Police Special Constabulary Annual Awards 2025!

Our members, Stockvale Group, were recognised for the amazing support they offer their staff through flexible working and paid time off to serve with Essex Police. Congratulations to Stockvale Group and all the nominees and winners for their outstanding commitment to keeping our communities safe!

All aboard the Wilko express!

Our Operations Director, Lisa Collins, and Events Marketing & Communications Co-Ordinator, Lucy Childs, were honoured to attend a very special event hosted by our Patrons, c2c, the official train naming ceremony in tribute to Canvey Island's own rock legend, Wilko Johnson!

Joined by members of the Dr. Feelgood band and Wilko’s son Simon, the celebration was a heartfelt tribute to a true cultural icon who left a mark on the world of music and Essex. Lisa & Lucy were also treated to a live performance by the cast and writer of ‘Wilko: Love and Death and Rock and Roll’, the theatre show hitting Leicester Square Theatre this July!

Thank you to c2c for including us in this special occasion. It was amazing to see their dedication the celebrating and commemorating their local community and culture.

Exciting times ahead for Basildon!

Our CEO Denise Rossiter, Head of Policy Iain McNab, and Client Relationship Manager, Kim Paxman, were invited to the view the impressive regeneration plans for Basildon Town Centre with Patrick Cole, Isabelle Chamberlain, and Cllr Jessica Power.

One of the projects is a new housing development delivered by Hills Group and Sempra Homes, turning a disused car park into 105 much-needed homes. Plus, hands-on brickwork training with GSQ Brickwork and Site Ready Solutions is helping individuals gain new skills and access to employment in the construction industry.

We’re proud to support Basildon Council’s vision for inclusive growth and local development and look forward to seeing the ongoing benefits this project will bring to local supply chains, communities, and economy.
