Business offered Mental Health Toolkit from Mid and North East Essex Mind

Mid and North East Essex Mind, the local mental health charity, is launching an innovative toolkit to offer businesses the chance to support their employees’ mental wellbeing.

The Mental Health Toolkit has been developed by Suffolk Mind to help people manage their own mental wellbeing. The training programme has gained some impressive results. 98% of people who’ve undertaken the course found it worthwhile, 97% planned to support themselves with their mental health post training, whilst 92% wanted to share their new skills with team members at work.

The Mental Health Toolkit: The Essentials is an award-winning and interactive workshop that provides a foundation for wellbeing in the workplace. The half day sessions can be completed online on in-person at a training event. The sessions are ideal for HR’s, managers and employees. Learners will be taught the ‘Mental Health Continuum’, which is the range of mental wellbeing, from crisis to happiness and fulfilment. Delegates will also learn how to understand emotional needs and how to ensure these needs are met. By understanding how a person’s mental wellbeing is managed it enables everyone to take care of themselves and those around them.

Ginny Idehen, CEO, Mid and North East Essex Mind, said: “We are thrilled and excited to be partnering with our neighbouring local Mind in Suffolk to bring to our region The Mental Health Toolkit by Suffolk Mind. These courses are ideal for businesses who want to invest in their people and provide long-term mental wellbeing support for all.”

One¹ in four adults and one in 10 children experience mental illness, with many other people caring and supporting people with stress, anxiety or depression. New data also revealed that 18 million² workdays are currently lost with employees off sick with mental ill health issues, which is costing the country a fortune.

The next workshops will take place online on the 20 March from 9.30am-1.30pm and in Colchester on 26 March from 9.30am-1.30pm.
