Farleigh Hospice has appointed Michelle Kabia as its Interim Chief Executive, while the charity’s Chief Executive, Sarah Green, takes nine months’ compassionate leave.
Michelle has over 30 years’ experience in the health, social care and charity sectors - most recently as CEO of ellenor Hospice in North Kent and Medway.
Her leadership philosophy focuses on collaboration, innovation and empowering teams to excel, which aligns closely with Farleigh’s values and mission.
Michelle’s focus will be to work closely with Farleigh’s Executive Team and Board of Trustees to deliver the charity’s short term KPIs and objectives, while continuing the development of its longer-term strategy.
This includes building on Farleigh’s strong collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure that the hospice continues to meet the needs of the local community, both now and in the future.
Have your say on Farleigh’s future priorities
Farleigh Hospice has been providing hospice care and bereavement support across mid Essex for over 42 years and makes no charge for any of its services.
It is beginning preparations for its Strategic Plan for 2026–2029 which will include its priorities for the next four years. Michelle Kabia and the charity’s Executive Team and Board of Trustees are keen to hear local thoughts, ideas, and experiences to help them understand what matters most across mid Essex.
‘Have Your Say’ is your chance to influence Farleigh’s future direction. Whether you’ve used Farleigh’s services, supported the charity or simply care about compassionate end of life care, you can get involved.
